Bio

Martina Hartusch is a contemporary Austrian painter currently residing in Graz. For her, painting serves as a form of meditation and a way to explore color, form, and structure, all with the goal of achieving harmony. From an early age, Hartusch was drawn to art, particularly painting, and regularly visited exhibitions by renowned national and international artists, which inspired her to pursue her own creative journey. She honed her skills through workshops and courses with recognized painters.

Her current painting style is the result of her continuous experimentation with materials, styles, and methods. She primarily works in abstraction, using high-quality acrylic paint and natural pigments. To add structure and texture to her pieces, she incorporates additional materials like sand, paper, and collage elements, employing mixed media techniques that give her works their distinctive appeal.

While predominantly abstract, Hartusch also creates realistic works, particularly landscape paintings. She categorizes her artworks based on the materials used, such as her C-Series (acrylic on canvas), SC-Series (mixed media on canvas), and SMC-Series (mixed media with a focus on one color). Her inspiration often comes from nature, with even her abstract works reflecting natural phenomena. She works meticulously until color, structure, and form merge into a cohesive, aesthetic whole.

A long-standing member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BVBK), Hartusch has participated in numerous exhibitions, including international group shows in Italy (Turin) and the USA (New York). Her work has earned several awards in various competitions, leading to more exhibition invitations. Hartusch’s paintings have been collected worldwide, with collectors from Japan, Taiwan, India, the US, and the EU acquiring her pieces.
